Operation Tackle 22: Empowering Heroes Through Therapeutic Fishing and Vocational Training.

Welcome to Operation Tackle 22, a peer-to-peer leadership development and vocational mentorship program dedicated to preventing suicide and promoting healing among our heroes. Our program offers a unique approach that combines therapeutic fishing experiences with vocational training, providing a path towards stability and success.

Through offshore fishing trips in rich marine habitats teeming with whales, sharks, tuna, swordfish, and marlin, we create an immersive and captivating experience for our participants. As part of our mentorship and vocational training program, each veteran is provided with the opportunity to attend Captain’s School. This comprehensive training program offers 300 hours of boating experience and mentorship, enabling them to acquire expertise in marine navigation and stay updated on the latest technological advancements in the field.

At Operation Tackle 22, we leverage the latest insights from developmental theory and science to support our heroes in their healing and personal growth. By reintegrating them into a stable workforce as boat Captains, we help them thrive and find purpose once again.

To further enhance the impact of our program, we plan to scale our operations through a mixed-methods pilot evaluation study in collaboration with scientists from Tufts University. This study will involve qualitative focus group discussions and longitudinal quantitative surveys, with the aim of shedding light on the effectiveness of our program and identifying areas for improvement.

Join us in supporting our heroes as they embark on a transformative journey of healing, skill development, and empowerment. Together, we can make a lasting difference in their lives.
